Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

The Tundra has the 3.4l TTV6 since the 2022 model year and redesign. It no longer has the V8. There have been a few reports of some bearings spinning at around 20k miles.

LR4 Accessories and Parts. XLifter, Trailer Wiring Harness, Etc.

Going to be selling my LR4 soon. Will probably have more parts and accessories for sale in the future, but for now I will list the things I bought but never got around to installing. First is the XLifter. Here is the thread on this forum regarding the XLifter...

Anyone end up buying their Grenadier order

Hinted around at it in another thread, but I went ahead and put a $1k deposit on a Land Cruiser. It's refundable, so if I don't like it I get the money back, but I have a feeling I'm going to like it. Supposed to be here between the end of May or early July. It's the 1958 Edition, which I...

    New engine noise

I just ran a carfax on my own vehicle to see what it says before I put it up for sale. There are things I had done at a mechanic or the dealer that do not register on the carfax report. For example, about 3 years ago I had a local indy replace both my crossover pipes, the water pump...

    Mystery Headlamp Bulb

This is not your headlight housing if yours is a 2014. That's a headlight housing for a 2010 to 2013. The years on that manual are wrong for us-spec LR4s. In the US, the headlights changed for the 2014 model year.

    Mystery Headlamp Bulb

In a 2014 or newer, the high and low beams are the same bulb. There is no other high beam. The 2013s and previous used two different bulbs. I have no idea where you got the other bulb from, but it looks like a turn signal bulb.

Still not 100% that's the way I'm going just yet. If you asked me a few weeks ago, I was eyeing the new Defenders. There is some Land Cruiser hype right now and a lot of dealers are seizing the opportunity to pocket a $10k markup. The dealers who aren't marking them way up have their first...

    Lr4 Brakes

There are different rear pads for the 2012s and older and 2013s and newer. https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/lr4-brakes.21542/page-27#post-246532

Maybe. I dunno. I've had mine since early January of 2016. Just ready for something different. Just at that point in my life where I don't have as much time to maintain vehicles and enough money to buy something new. Local Toyota dealer has an unclaimed 1958 edition Land Cruiser coming in a...

I'm planning on selling mine in the next few months. This will be a decent barometer for me. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/3oZLz579/2011-land-rover-lr4-hse This one does not look to have the timing chain guides done, though. And it's a year older than mine. Similar mileage, though.

Front Control Arm Replacement on LR4 and saw a warning light come on

If it's way out of alignment, there's a steering sensor that raises a fuss.

Cable hanging down (damaged) from my rear passenger wheel well (Update: Resolved!)

If your old pads never wore to the point that the sensor went off, there's no reason to change the sensor. That said, if you paid for it to be changed... it should have been changed. Looks like they forgot to reconnect it to the brake pads when they buttoned everything back up. So now you...

Suspension Fault When Parked on Incline

I had the same code. Turned out my exhaust sensor (top of the compressor) got unplugged. I'd start by checking you have the right compressor firmware. If you do, next step is to pull the compressor and see if you have a wiring issue.

    Engine disassembly after going poof

It's notorious for having a bad crankshaft, which wasn't the problem here. Christian (the guy on LRTime) did a masterclass in the problems with the TDV6 on a prior video on that channel. Long story short, his theory is that JLR wanted to use this engine in so many different vehicle models...

    18" New Defender Steelies on 2010 LR4

My brake pad switch was unrelated to the wheels. I had run Hawk pads with OEM rotors in the front since October 2018 and loved them. They were getting worn and replaced them with new Hawk pads (and new OEM rotors) in April 2023. Hawk did something different to the backing on their pads and I...

    18" New Defender Steelies on 2010 LR4

I've been running them since August of 2021. Still love them. Only issue now is that since I switched back to OEM brake discs and pads on the front, the brake dust is really visible on the white wheels. EDITED: Realized I've been running the steelies since August 2021 and not 2022.

Sounds similar to Mission Hills, right near my house. I see more L322s there than anything newer Land Rover-related, and my guess is that they are all really low mileage.

Also, that low mileage one does not have the HD package, so someone may be in for a rude awakening when they think they are going to turn it into an overlanding rig without a low range transfer case.

Not sure why, but a lot of Long Island cars get little mileage. Guess maybe their owners take the subway or something? No idea. I'm just a midwest dork taking a guess.

Different oil level readings with hood open

Common sense will tell you it will read lower. Despite the oil being "thinner" when it's warmed up, it still takes a bit for it to all drain into the oil pan. This is ostensibly why Land Rover has the 15-minute wait period without the workaround: to ensure the most accurate reading possible...

Different oil level readings with hood open

I was going to say this, but glad you were the first. I have never seen more misinformation than I've seen on the LR4-related facebook groups. Common sense and easily verifiable things, too, like which engine came in which model, differences between the LR3 and the LR4, availability of...

Different oil level readings with hood open

I have never heard of the vehicle having different readings. Why would it? Seems like an extra complication for no rational purpose.

    Radiator Replacement

On my 2012 (originally purchased in December 2012), my radiator was leaking and replaced under my CPO warranty in December 2018 at around 80k miles.
